Spanish Groups, Hispasat, a communications satellite operator, and the Hispatec Group, a company specializing in software and digitalization solutions for the agricultural sector, have signed an agreement to promote the use of new technologies in North Africa to boost agriculture in the region.
Their partnership is expected to extend the use of the Hispatec Group’s technological tools to provide digital management solutions for agricultural farms through satellite connectivity.
The companies will bring broadband satellite connectivity Wi-Fi so that the farm workers can transmit the data from their phone and computer devices in quick time, without needing to leave the farm to areas with good network connectivity.
Farms in rural areas of North Africa barely have good network connectivity, posing a serious challenge for digital management of the farm. However, with the inclusion of this Spanish groups, they will benefit largely as this partnership will help them make decisions, contributing to increased productivity and reduced water, fertiliser and plant sanitary product usage. This technology ensures that products are traceable and helps to minimise the impact that agricultural-livestock activity has on the environment.
