Egypt Set To Launch Universal Health Insurance Scheme Across Country

The Egyptian Government are at the final stages of the Universal Health insurance scheme set to be launched across the country.

With a pilot phase proposed to commence in March at Luxor, this will see the rise of registered people in the region from the 293,000 Luxor Dwellers already registered.

Egypt’s Health Minister, Hala Zayed, over the weekend did a check on hospitals which will operate the new health insurance system.
The hospitals are; New Isna Specialized Hospital, New Odaisat Hospital, Al-Bayadeya Hospital, International Luxor Hospital, Armant Hospital, Luxor Fever Hospital and Luxor General Hospital.
Apart from these hospitals, Nine health units and centres in Luxor will also be part of the system.

This health insurance system was introduced in Port Said in June 2019 registering 506,000 citizens. It will be launched in Ismailiyah next month and will be introduced in South Sinai by March 2020 as well.

The Egyptian Government will fully implement this scheme in all part of Egypt by 2030.
