The African ICT Foundation Opens Drone Academy in Benin Republic

The African ICT Foundation in partnership with CTA and Global Partners has launched a drone academy in the Benin Republic to enable safe and proper use of Drones in Africa.

The project is designed to evaluate the impact of Drone services on rice productivity implemented in the municipality of Glazoué.

The project is funded by the European Union through the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and Implemented by Global Partners in collaboration with CTA and the Eastern Kentucky University Aviation School (EKU) to boost the use of drones for development in Africa and allow drone users to acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to use drones while ensuring the safety of people and goods.

This has opened a door for the employability of young Africans and also contributing to the realization of the African Union (AU) that identified drones as an innovative technology that will accelerate the transformation of the African continent.
