South Africa’s Automotive Zone to Provide 6,700 jobs.

According to South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, 6,700 direct jobs will be created during Phase One of the Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone which was launched on Tuesday

President Ramaphosa was accompanied by trade and industry minister Ebrahim Patel, and other top government officials and officials from Ford Motors.

He expressed his joy while delivering a keynote address, stating he was filled with pride to announce what would be achieved through the special economic zone

“I am pleased to note that the 18 companies that have been engaged to set up operations in this special economic zone are already revving their engines and are rearing to go; with nine already confirmed to set up factories here by January 2021,” Ramaphosa said.

President Ramaphosa added that the project will boost the local market as well as employ 6,700 people.

“This hub will bring jobs and support local businesses and help spur the National investor confidence. It will also create 6700 jobs and that fills me with great pride,” he said.
