French Automotive Manufacturer Expands in Morocco

Sealynx automotive Morocco, a subsidiary of Sealynx International based in France has today inaugurated a new production facility in Tangier, Morocco. The new facility has a total investment of €22 million.

This new facility will specialize in manufacturing automotive gaskets and will directly employ 180 people.

Morocco’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Moulay Hafid Elalamy at the inauguration applauded the company, stating that the plant helps meet the demand of the Moroccan automotive sector.

He reiterated the potentials of Morocco’s automotive industry and emphasized on its strength.

President of Sealynx International, Alain Martineau said that the move confirms their pioneering role by being the first supplier of automotive gaskets in Morocco.

With this new plant, Morocco is strengthening its position as an automotive leader in Africa. The automotive industry recorded the strongest job creation. The sector created 116,611 jobs, representing 28.8 percent of all new jobs between 2014 and 2018.

Morocco’s proximity to the European market, its modern infrastructures, free trade zones, skilled manpower and economic stability have seen the country turn to car industry hub attracting automotive investors.
